Volunteer With La Esperanza
La Esperanza is powered by community members who show up with their time, talent, and heart to support immigrant families across Madison, Buncombe, Mitchell, and Yancey counties. Volunteers make our programs possible — from delivering food to tutoring English to organizing local support networks. We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds. Our most needed roles include:
Community Support Roles Community Organizers – Help plan outreach, events, and family support initiatives.
Fundraisers & Grant Writers – Assist with identifying funding, writing proposals, and supporting donor outreach.
Interpreters – Provide Spanish–English interpretation for families during appointments, programs, and community events.
Food Bank Volunteers – Join purchasing teams, help with deliveries, or volunteer on-site at food distribution days.
Education & Family Support
ESL Tutors – Support English learners of all ages through one-on-one tutoring or small sessions.
Family Transportation Drivers – Help families reach essential appointments, classes, and resources.
If you want to make a direct, meaningful impact, there’s a place for you here.
